Muse Challenge #196

Hello and welcome!!

Today I'm sharing a card I made to play at Muse Card Club Challenge #196.

This week's Muse is Tracey Mcneely. She has created a beautiful clean & simple card, featuring a pink watercolor butterfly and a large sentiment.

How was I inspired by Tracey's card?
  • The colors. I used watercolor paper and 3 shades of pink to create the gradient effect.
  • The insect (instead of a butterfly I used a ladybug).
  • Tracey embellished her butterfly with three Nuvo drops, so instead I used three sequins as embellishments.
  • The large beautiful sentiment
Here is my card...

I die cut extra wings from vellum and adhered them with small pieces of foam tape to give dimension to my ladybug.

This is Tracey's card:

Thank you so much  for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Raquel

Guest Designer - Inkspirational Challenge #124

Hello and welcome!!
I'm honored and excited to be the Guest Designer for Inkspirational Challenge #124.

This week is a Color challenge using Neutrals Only

My project for this challenge is a Christmas card using the colors: gray and white.

Here is my card...

As this is a Christmas card, I needed to add a bit of sparkle, so the ribbon was the perfect touch.

I love how this card turned out, so I used this design for my Christmas cards 2016.
I made them in red and green, and they look as pretty as the gray version.
Here's a look...

How to make this card:
1. Form a card base from gray cardstock and stamp the stars using white pigment ink.
2. Die cut a stitched rectangle panel and heat embossed the sentiment and the tree.
3. Adhere the ribbon to the stitched panel and the die cut star to the tree.
4.Adhere the panel to the card base with foam adhesive.

For more inspiration from the Design Team head over to Inkspirational Challenge blog, and  I hope you'll play along, too!!

Happy Halloween 2016!

Hello and welcome!! I wanted to make Halloween cards but I didn't' have any Halloween stamp, so I got some digital stamps by Mo Manning at Mo's Digital Pencil. Her site has the cutest images and I know you'd love them.

I made two clean and simple cards. I just printed and colored both images using Spectrum Noir markers (colors used are listed on the supplies list at the bottom of the post).

For the second card I stamped "Halloween", and die cut  "happy" from orange and purple cardstock. I glued a giggle eye to the letter "O" for a "spooky' look.

**********
¡Hola y bienvenidos!

Hello there!!  I made this birthday card for my mother-in -law, she loves butterflies and flowers. So it's perfect to celebrate her special day.

I  stamped the flowers using the masking technique and then colored all the images with my Spectrum Noir markers, all colors used are listed on the supplies list at the bottom of the post.

I added some gold dots to the center of the flowers using a gold glitter pen.

I love this bright combination of colors, especially the butterfly.

Happy Fall 2016!

Hello and welcome!!

Fall is here, yay!! I'm so excited because it's my favorite season. I love how the weather gets a little cooler, and how the trees change colors into reds, golden yellows and oranges. It's just beautiful!

So today I want to share a card to welcome the Autumn. I focused on those beautiful leaves and colors typical of the season. I hope you like it!

First, I made a card base from kraft cardstock. Die cut the bottom front using a scallop edge die. For the inside, I added a piece of patterned paper.

I heat embossed some gold splatters and the sentiment  to the front of the card.

For the leaves,  I sponged some distress inks on white cardstock, creating the typical fall colors. Die cut and adhered them to the card. As a final touch, I tie a hemp cord with a bow.

***************
¡Hola!

Birthday Confetti!

Hello friends!! I hope you all are doing great :)
Today I'm so excited to share a colorful birthday card. I made this card using die cuts and patterned paper.

First, I cut a panel from pink patterned paper and then, die cut just the bottom part of the word 'birthday', and then glued the panel to my white base.

After that, I die cut (3 times) the word 'birthday' from chevron patterned paper and glued them together to give extra dimension. Repeated this process with the word 'happy'.

To embellished my card, I die cut different shapes of confetti from colorful cardstock to match the chevron patterned paper. As a final touch I added some sparkle to the word 'happy' and confetti.

 Here's my card...

 Here's a close-up...
